Magnesium Body Lotion
2It's beginning to sound like our Vitamin D deficiencies are actually magnesium deficiencies. So how to get good quality magnesium in our little ones in a way that won't risk upsetting their gastrointestinal track? Enter: FATSKN's Magnesium Body Lotion (great for kids and adults!) Made with genuine Zechstein magnesium chloride flakes.
Magnesium chloride flakes are water soluble so this product is by definition a lotion as it has water in it. The beeswax acts as an emulsifier so you end up with something that feels a bit like a salve. Due to the fact that there is water in here and no preservatives, the listed shelf life of this product is 3 months (you can throw it in the fridge to extend the shelf life).
In our household we use it every few nights, more when we're stressed. We also supplement with magnesium bicarbonate as we believe it is useful to have more than one source of magnesium. It is normal if there's a bit of a stinging or itching sensation - it just means you're deficient (I swear I'm not gaslighting you here lol). In my experience if I increase my magnesium supplementation it will cease to itch. Personally I find it to be a great litmus test - it tells me when I'm falling short.
N.B.: Because this product is a brine, do not apply to cuts, eczema or freshly-shaved areas as it will sting (it won't be harmful, but it will be quite uncomfortable. I speak from experience lol.)
